| Abstract: | Planning strategies for implementing an Electronic Resource Management System (ERM), including record structure, licensing, staffing levels, training and workflow based on the work done at the University at Buffalo with the III stand alone ERM as a case study. |
| Description: | Susan Davis is co-head of the Electronic Periodicals Management Department in the University Libraries' Central Technical Services at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. This department manages all aspects of nearly 36,000 e-serials. Prior to assuming this position in 2005, she was head of the Periodicals Section in the Acquisitions Department at UB, and previously head of Serial Records in the Serials Department. Before coming to Buffalo in 1984, she was head of the Serials Department at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Susan is a former NASIG president (1998) and former chair of the Serials Section in the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services division of the American Library Association. She remains an active committee member in both organizations and has attended all NASIG conferences to date. She edits a column of conference reports for Serials Review and has published reports for both Serials Review and the Serials Librarian. She has given presentations at NASIG, ALA and other regional conferences and will be heading off next week to give a workshop at the United Kingdom Serials Group Conference at the University of Warwick. |
