Abstract: Merrill Elam, AIA (Arch 1971) and Mack Scogin, AIA (Arch 1967) delivered a talk as part of the Architecture Centennial Lecture Series. The Atlanta-based, husband and wife team of Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam are known around the world for architectural designs featuring the unconventional use of materials and subtle, often unexpected narrative associations to place and program. Practicing architects since the 1960s, they are best known locally for the dramatic and controversial Buckhead Library.
