The presentation is helpful to librarians and library staff in addressing organizational change. Topics include the virtual classroom concept, strategic knowledge management, and the role distance learning plays in organizational development and library educational cost structuring. |
| Description: | Cheryl Lawson has worked in a variety of libraries since 1993, when as an intern with the Hughes Training Corporation she implemented a full-service OPAC for their Aeronautics Materials Requirements Division. As an academic librarian she worked at Brookhaven Community College providing reference assistance to collegiate students, administrators and professors. Other brief library encounters include work at UT Southwestern Medical Center Library and The Colony Public Library. In addition, her career includes corporate library work with Apex Engineered Solutions and public library experience as the assistant manager of MLK Branch Library in Dallas, Texas. In 2005 she was appointed branch manager of Denton Public Library’s North Branch location, and currently is pursuing her doctorate in Information Sciences at the University of North Texas. |
