Abstract: During the summer of 2006, students in the Languages for Business and Technology (LBAT) - Germany program studied for seven weeks in Germany. They explored both the West and the East: the historical city of Weimar, the bustling metropolis of Munich, and the capital Berlin. Working in small groups assisted by German tutors, they learned about current issues facing German businesses through site visits to Schott Glas Werke, Hettich Kg, Siemens, and BMW. They also experienced a varied cultural program including excursions to sites such as the historical marketplace, Viktualien Markt. In addition they took excursions to cities such as Eisenach –birthplace of Bach, Wartburg castle, Buchenwald concentration camp, Dresden, Jena, Erfurt, Naumburg, and Regensburg. This is their account of their summer in Bavaria.
