November 12, 2002

Members Present: Jeffrey Donnell (ME), Lynn Fountain (GTRI), Joseph Hoey (OARS), Tom Horton (GTRI), Maureen Kilroy (GS&R), Jim Sowell (PHYS)

Members Absent: Carol Colatrella (LCC), Jerry O’Brien (CoS), Jane Weyant (CoE)

Visitors:

1. Lynn Fountain called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.

2. Minutes for the October, 2002 meeting of the Committee were presented for later review and approval via e-mail.

3. Joseph Hoey described the functions of the Georgia Tech Office of Assessment and presented two reports, the first of which was recently prepared by that office:

· ACT Student Opinion Survey: A Comparative Report of 1997 and 2001 Surveys at Georgia Tech, and

· excerpts from the 2002 Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted for Auxiliary Services at Georgia Institute of Technology

The ACT Student Opinion Survey report will soon be available on the Office of Assessment’s Web page. The committee discussed with Hoey ways of disseminating assessment reports to a wider audience.

4. The Committee will next meet on December 3, 2002, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in ERB 114. Rosalind Meyers will speak.

5. The Committee’s Spring 2003 meeting dates are as follows: January 7, February 4, March 4, April 1.

6. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
