MINUTES OF THE GRADUATE CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MEETING

<![if !supportLists]>1. <![endif]>A motion was made to accept the sub-committee’s report on petitions. The motion was seconded and approved. Unanimous.
<![if !supportLists]>2. <![endif]>The Committee heard two petitions that had been referred by the sub-committee.
<![if !supportLists]>3. <![endif]>Maureen Kilroy circulated a recommendation for discussion concerning a change in the policy on the advisement of graduate student research and the appointment of thesis advisory committees. These changes were related to joint degrees. After some discussion, the decision was made to consider this at a later meeting, after the members had input from their departments.
<![if !supportLists]>4. <![endif]>The committee reviewed 13 petitions, covering 14 actions. All were approved except noted:
3-to waive 6/7-year rule
7-to process late grade change/withdraw from course (3denied)
2-to return fall 2003 after academic dismissal spring 2003
1-to graduate with low gpa
1-to register for more than required hours
