1.        Lynn Fountain called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.

2.        Based on concern over the Institute’s classroom utilization rate, the committee asked Joseph Hoey to develop a survey that would characterize barriers to an expansion of the academic day to include evening classes.  Towards development of a preliminary survey, some possible concerns and constituencies were listed, including:

Safety (Particularly for students)

Childcare (Particularly for faculty)

Scheduling / flex time (Particularly for staff members who might support evening courses)

Logistics (For all constituencies:  Might events such as concerts or sports events disrupt parking for evening students?)

It is expected that this list of concerns and constituencies will expand as the survey is developed.

3.        The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeffrey Donnell, Secretary
