During the academic year 2002-03, the Architecture Ph.D. Program at Georgia Tech went through the Institute’s program review process. This comprehensive review process includes the creation of a program or unit self-study; an external site visit by a team of qualified peers that results in an external reviewers’ report; a review of the curricula within the program or unit by the appropriate faculty body (the Institute Graduate Committee or the Institute Undergraduate Curriculum Committee); and a review and synthesis of all review materials by the Institute Review Committee. For the Architecture Ph.D. program review, the external reviewers included:
Dr. Vivian Loftness, Head of the School of Architecture, Carnegie-Mellon University; and
Dr. Gerald Weisman, Professor, Department of Architecture, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
The following report is organized as follows: Introduction; Program Indicators of Viability, Productivity, and Quality; and Recommendations.
