Position Summary: Under the direction of the College Dean, the Associate Dean typically has direct responsibility for providing leadership to the academic programs of the College, in addition to the support services offered to students who are within these programs. As assigned by the Dean, the Associate Dean may also have responsibility for enrollment planning and management, fundraising efforts, faculty hiring, annual evaluation, promotion and tenure review processes, budget development and financial management, coordination of interdisciplinary research and educational efforts with other colleges and units (on and off campus), and oversight of the course and teaching schedule for the College. The Associate Dean works closely with the Dean, other Associate Deans in the College, and other Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure that the College fulfills its mission to provide Georgia Institute of Technology and the state of Georgia with the scientific and technological knowledge base, innovation, and workforce it needs to shape a prosperous and sustainable future and quality of life for its citizens.
