dc.description.abstractOur team worked with Norfolk Southern Railway to optimize their locomotive fueling policy. We implemented a simulation based optimization model which gave an immediate value added of $8 million annually. A recommendation for future changes allows Norfolk Southern to increase their potential savings to $29 million.en_US
