Impacts of the ERC on the research funding landscape in Europe

Abstract

The paper studies early impacts of the recently established European Research Council on the national funding councils in the EU member states. An important part of the paper is a discussion of an appropriate conceptual framework for this kind of study taking into account organizational diversity in funding councils and European developments towards a European research funding space.
