Nordic small countries in the global high-tech value chains: the case of telecommunications systems production
Abstract
In this paper we analyse the interplay between the globalisation, corporate strategy and location choice in the telecommunications systems production. We focus on three different enterprises in the Nordic countries: Ericsson, Elcoteq and Skype. On this basis, we discuss competence building and catching-up strategies for latecomers in a modern R&D intensive industry.
