Title: GKR: GALILEO Knowledge Repository

Abstract: The GALILEO Knowledge Repository (GKR) is a system-wide approach to building Institutional Repositories. The concept was developed by the Regents Advisory Committee on Libraries (RACL) in August 2004 and was awarded a Federal grant (IMLS National Leadership) in 2009 to seed the project. Leads are Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Georgia.

Subject Track: Digital Repositories; Faculty Outreach Marlee Givens is the GALILEO Knowledge Repository (GKR) Project Manager, Georgia Tech Library. Andy Carter is the Digital Projects Archivist at Digital Library of Georgia and GKR Content & Metadata Committee chair. Debra Skinner is the Coordinator of Cataloging & Metadata, Assistant Dept. Head, Georgia Southern University and GKR Content & Metadata Committee member.
