Assessment of Economic Impacts for the Water Allocation Formula Environmental Impact Statements
Abstract
This paper describes the economic evaluations conducted for the Draft Environmental Impact Statements (EIS's) prepared in conjunction with the development of Water Allocation Formulas for the Alabama-CoosaTallapoosa (ACT) and Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basins. The EIS process requires that significant impacts to the human environment be identified and documented. Since the economies of the ACT and ACF basins are very dependent on the water resources contained in these basins, a considerable amount of economic analysis was undertaken for these EIS's.
