    Abstract
"Waste-based Biofineries" is the title of the talk that was given by Dr. Mark van Loosdrecht, a professor of environmental biotechnology at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. The talk explored the potential of recovering chemicals from wastewater. It also looked at processes to produce polymeric materials from waste and how alginates and hydroxyalkanoates can be cost-effectively produced from waste.
