    Abstract
This panel addresses ways technical communication occurs in a variety of workplace settings: computer science, business, and law. Our three panelists will identify their experiences communicating with different audiences and answer the following questions: 1. What does “technical communication” mean in computer science, business, and law? 2. What types of written, oral, visual, electronic, and nonverbal communication modes are used in these workplace settings? 3. What sort of issues/problems arise in communication in the execution of the panelists’ jobs? 4. What are some of the issues about which technical communication practitioners need to be mindful? The panelists and the audience will converse about differences and similarities occurring within the three professional settings.
