Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE)

The research efforts of the staff have resulted in numerous publications as NACA, NASA, DoD and other government agency notes and reports, in papers published in recognized professional archival journals, and in reports made to symposia and congresses throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East. Theoretical and experimental research in the aerodynamics of the helicopter rotor has been conducted from the beginning of the School to the present day, and reference to this work appears in international literature. The wind tunnel has been used extensively to obtain aerodynamic, propulsion, and flutter characteristics of airplanes, aircraft components, and helicopter rotors. Recent studies have yielded new laser-based techniques for flow visualization and measurement.
